American Sweetheart was made by MacBeth-Evans Glass Company from 1930 to 1936 in pink, Monax (white with translucent edges), ruby and cobalt, with some trimmed Monax and plain Cremax (beige color).

American Sweetheart has widely scalloped edges, with three small ridges or panels alternating with larger panels with a scroll motif with an arch of small dots on the outside of the motif. Plates may or may not have a center scroll motif.
