Moderntone Platonite was made by Hazel Atlas from 1940 to the early 1950's. There are several variations in decoration - from white with red or blue circles around the outsides of the dishes, to white with a stylized Willow design (Japanese bridge and tree), to solid colors. Colors made include pastel blue, green, yellow, and pink (there are different shades of pink ranging from light to deep coral), and white. In later years there was limited production in cobalt, turquoise, deep yellow, orange, chartreuse, burgandy, dark green, gray, rust, and gold. The insides of the dishes may be the same color as the outside, or white.
The Little Hostess Party Dishes (children's sets) were particularly popular in this line.
