Ovide was made by Hazel Atlas starting in the 1930's (transparent green and yellow, black). Most of the pieces found today are from the 1950's, with colors fired on to white Platonite (called Moderntone). Some pieces have shading (pink, blue, yellow, green) with black on the edges (Informal) or yellow shading with pink edges (Sunrise).

In addition to basic colors above, white platonite pieces with various decorations (bands, stripes, bows, birds, windmills, asters, forget-me-nots, fruit, art deco, flying geese) can be found.
