Pattern Description

Pioneer is a glassware pattern made by Federal Glass Company during the 1940's in crystal, pink, and various sprayed on colors. Gold and smoke are frequently found in this pattern.

Detail of Decoration

Pioneer glassware is heavy and fairly thick (3/8 in.), with sawtooth edges. Some pieces are plain centered, some have an intaglio fruit design. The edges of the dishes have a triangle with a star in it alternating with sections of pleated panels. Some pieces (bowls) have ruffled edges.
